2019 Harvest Report North Zone, Chile
The North zone consists of the following regions:
- Copiapó Valley
- Huasco Valley
- Elqui Valley
- Limarí Valley
- Choapa Valley
The season started with an early sprouting and was followed up by some great thermal amplitude during the ripening season. Therefore, the quality of the grapes in general can be described as very good. Especially the muscat and chardonnay show great potential with their rich aromatic expressions. In terms of reds, this also applies to the Syrah.
Due to drought and scarcity of water in certain regions, the production is around 20 percent lower compared to the average.
