The South zone consists of the following regions:
Good weather during the spring and no rain during harvest created great meteorological circumstances in this region. There was some drought due to the high temperatures in the summer but this did not cause significant impact on the grapes. However, locally some frost and dehydration of white grapes took place. Different varieties show high yields, especially the Cinsault which presented a yield of 40% above the average.
From the BioBío region and further south, frost may have affected the total production negatively and delayed sprouting for different grape varieties.
