The wine business is in desperate need for some real meetings and tastings but to date, the Loire wine show is theonly physical show planned for the spring. Millésime Bio in its bricks-and-mortar form has been cancelled [red: but maintained digitally], Wine Paris has been postponed until June and ProWein has been cancelled to prevent the risk of yet another cancellation.

After almost a year of lockdowns and limitations on ‘live’ meetings and Europe under the spell of even more contagious COVID mutations, we still don’t have a real perspective on when the situation returns to normal despite the start of nationwide vaccination programs. Will it be in July or even later, we just don’t know for sure.

Vinexion was founded last year and after an initial rapid growth, we too were hit by the effects of COVID on the wine industry. People were (and still are) in total confusion and lack a clear perspective on the future. The initial effect? An attitude of: "we'll wait it out, it will get better later on". But that doesn’t work anymore!

Now, in the early part of 2021, we can see that the wine business still lacks a real perspective. Until the summer there is little hope for improvement and the restoration of 'business as usual'. It is necessary to embrace the alternative (digital) ways of discovering and contacting new outlets and importers or find new wineries to keep your portfolio interesting for your clients!

Luckily there is an affordable and very effective platform available to help you with just that: Vinexion. Check it out with the free 20-day trial and save 20% on the first year’s membership on: www.vinexion.com
